Short note for my future self:

Delete sleepimage (in the VM!):

sudo pmset hibernatemode 0; sudo rm -f /var/vm/sleepimage

Shut down VM and on the HOST:

/Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/vmware-vdiskmanager -k /Users/user/Virtual\ Machines.localized/macOS\ 15.vmwarevm/Virtual\ Disk.vmdk
